The first GLOBAL CHALLENGE of The Fresh Connection has started!

The first Global Challenge of The Fresh Connection has started. More than 200 teams from 17 countries all over the world are trying to make the company The Fresh Connection profitable again and to let it grow by taking the right strategic and tactical decisions. After 6 rounds and possibly a national final the best performing teams will qualify for the international final to be conducted in Barcelona, Spain in September 2012. In Barcelona the world's best teams will then come together with the chance to claim the title of Global Champion of The Fresh Connection: the ultimate value chain experience.

The Mechanics

The Fresh Connection requires participants to make strategic and tactical decisions to save the fictional company- The Fresh Connection- from financial ruin.

Participating in teams of four representing the functional roles of Operations, Purchasing, Sales, and Supply Chain, participants are required to consider corporate strategy and business objectives, means to effectively put strategy into action, contemporary business issues and trade-offs, and the need for structured decision making processes such as Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).

By running in a series of ‘rounds’ that each constitute 6 months in the real world, participants are presented with the consequences of sub-optimal decision making. The impact of ineffective communication, poor decisions, lack of strategy or structure, and the need for change, are all made evident. Most importantly, participants learn that poor strategy and execution has a direct impact on company profitability.

More than 5,000 professionals from more than 500 companies have preceded you!
