Moscow victorious in Russian Final of the Global Student Challenge

23 December 2019

The first-ever Russian Final of the Global Student Challenge powered by The Fresh Connection took place in the Saint-Petersburg during 9th and 10th of December 2019.

This event was hosted by Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University and welcomed 7 qualified teams from different universities. As a part of their journey to the GSC20, each team went through qualification rounds of The Fresh Connection at their home universities and those winning participants joined the first Russian Final of the Global Student Challenge!

The Final was quite tough with only 2 hours per each round. Some students confessed they had never experienced such an interesting challenge before.

The winning team reached a ROI above 36% in last round and above 26% of weighted average across all rounds. But it was only clear when the results were presented: top three best performing teams kept the game in high competition, with only a 1,5% difference of weighted ROI between them at the end!

First place was taken by a team from Russian University Of People’s Friendship (RUDN) from Moscow. You can see those lucky winners together with Dmitrii Gavrilov, CPIM, CSCP, CLTD, SCOR-P, APICS Master Instructor and The Fresh Connection Instructor (on the right), and Alexey Shumakov (on the left), the vice-dean of Engineering Academy of the university on the photo. The winning team is now invited to join and participate in the Global Final 2020 in the Netherlands.
